Human Rights

The definition of human rights by the United Nations is defined as "inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. Examples include the right to life and liberty, education and work, and freedom of expression.

This ​A-Level Human Rights module will enable students to:​

  • Discuss what human rights are and its categories;
  • Explain what causes variations in human rights around the world;
  • Explain how human rights is used as a justification for interventions by state and non-state actors; and
  • Discuss how human rights are governed around the world
